Gi

In BJJ, the Gi refers to the traditional uniform worn during training and competition. Gi training involves using the Gi for grips, control, and techniques like lapel chokes and Judo throws, allowing for a broader range of submissions and positional strategies.

Rolling (Sparring)

In BJJ, rolling refers to live sparring sessions where students apply techniques in real-time against resisting opponents. Rolling allows students to practice submissions, escapes, and positional control in a dynamic environment, helping to sharpen their skills, timing, and strategy in a safe and controlled setting.

No-Gi

In No-Gi BJJ, you train without the traditional uniform, wearing rash guards and shorts instead. No-Gi training focuses body control, and using grips on the opponent’s body rather than the clothing, emphasising techniques like clinches, underhooks, and quicker transitions for positional control and submissions.
